Vortex Tube - Vortex Tube Technology For Industrial Applications From ITW Vortec Products
|
The Vortex Tube is an effective, low cost solution to a wide variety of industrial spot cooling and process cooling needs. Compressed air is injected into the vortex tube, flows at a rate of up to 1,000,000 RPM towards the 'hot' end of the tube. Once this hot air reaches the end, a small amount is exhausted through a control valve. The rest of the air is forced backwards towards the other end and exits as 'cold' air. Vortex Tube - How Does It Work
The ITW Vortec Vortex Tube has the ability to enhance overall functionality of the equipment it is installed with. The assurance of quality and raw materials can be obtained only at ITW Vortec and we never let our customers go unsatisfied. The company maintains a huge inventory to serve its customers on time. The complete research in the field of vortex tubes allows ITW Vortec to have a well defined, systematic approach. Vortex Tube Applications: Vortex Tubes have a very wide range of applications for industrial spot cooling on machines, assembly lines and processes.

Vortex Tube - What is it?
Fluid (air) that rotates around an axis (like a tornado) is called a vortex. Vortex Tubes create cold air and hot air by forcing compressed air through a generation chamber which spins the air centrifugally along the inner walls of the Tube at a high rate of speed (1,000,000 RPM) toward the control valve. A percentage of the hot, high-speed air is permitted to exit at the control valve. The remainder of the (now slower) air stream is forced to counterflow up through the center of the high-speed air stream, giving up heat, through the center of the generation chamber finally exiting through the opposite end as extremely cold air. Vortex Tubes generate temperatures down to 100°F below inlet air temperature. A control valve located in the hot exhaust end can be used to adjust the temperature drop and rise for all Vortex Tubes.
